Tofu Taho

YIELD: 2-3 individual dessert glasses

This easy silken tofu taho recipe features Mori-Nu Super Soft Tofu, our most delicately smooth and custard-like variety. Paired with chewy sago pearls and a warm brown sugar syrup, it becomes a light, comforting dessert that assembles in minutes and looks gorgeous in a clear glass.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package (10.8 oz) Mori-Nu Silken Tofu Super Soft

  • 1 cup cooked sago (or tapioca) pearls

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. First, prepare the sago pearls according to package instructions. Set aside.

  2. To a small pot over medium heat, add water, sugar, and salt. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat.

  3. Assemble the dessert by slicing or spooning Mori-Nu Super Soft Tofu into layers and adding them to clear glasses, alternating with spoonfuls of sago pearls.

  4. Add some syrup as you go, making sure to cover all layers.

  5. Top off with a bit of both the tofu and the pearls.

TIPS

  • Use a clear glass to show the layers and textures.

  • Some sago or tapioca pearls require soaking/resting time, so allow extra time if needed.

  • Any size pearls can be used, from small to large. Larger pearls are generally chewier.

  • Use a sharp knife or thin-edged spoon to make clean cuts through the tofu.

  • Taho can be served warm or cold.

  • SHELF-STABLE: Mori-Nu Silken Tofu is shelf-stable and can be kept in the pantry until ready to serve.
