Morinaga Nutritional Foods has just released a Make-Your-Own Tofu Kit which allows tofu lovers to make traditional Japanese tofu in the comfort of their own kitchens! An easy four step process yields silken or soft tofu, which is suitable to consume on its own, or, by using a tofu press, a firmer style of tofu (momen) can be made. Tofu is a great way to add protein to a diet without added cholesterol or saturated fats.  The Make-Your-Own Tofu Kit includes 6 packages of Make-Your-Own Tofu Kit Soy milk, 6 pouches of Make-Your-Own Tofu Kit Nigari (coagulant), and 1 Tofu Maker Kit (momen tofu press). The Kit is available now on www.morinu.com for a SRP of $17.40.

Morinaga packages their tofu products in aseptic boxes in order to increase the shelf-life of the product, which protects the product for 9 months. The box is recyclable and BPA-free, and allows the product to be preserved without the use of preservatives.  In this technologically advanced packaging process, nutrition and flavor are sealed in the day it is made.  Morinaga’s soy products are proudly made and packaged in the U.S.A., certified Kosher, and use Non-GMO soybeans.

About Morinaga Nutritional Foods

In 1985, Morinaga Nutritional Foods Inc. began marketing aseptically packaged tofu in the United States under the Mori-Nu brand name. Morinaga helped to develop a revolutionary new packaging process that seals in all the wholesome nutrition of tofu in an airtight, shelf-stable package. This aseptic packaging protects the contents from the harmful effects of light, air, and microorganisms without preservatives or irradiation.  The Institute of Food Technologists voted Morinaga’s packaging "the #1 food science innovation of the last 50 years" because it increases nutrient retention and flavor while ensuring food safety.  Other products include Mori-Nu Silken Soy Puree, and their line of probiotics.
