Mori-Nu Announces New Formula, New Package Design for Silken Tofu Made with Organic Soybeans

Los Angeles, California (March 2003) - In response to new organic food guidelines outlined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Morinaga Nutritional Foods has developed a new formulation for the company's Mori-Nu Silken Tofu Made with Organic Soybeans. The new recipe uses evaporated soymilk as its base, resulting in a very firm texture and improved taste. To date, the company is able to make only one "firmness" with the new formula. Therefore, Mori-Nu Silken Tofu Made with Organic Soybeans is now available in Firm texture only. The product will be appearing on store shelves beginning this month in a new package design that includes a color photo and recipe for Fresh Spinach Lasagna.

Morinaga Nutritional Foods continues to make all varieties of its silken tofu with only non genetically modified (non-GMO) soybeans. The formulas for the other five Mori-Nu Tofu varieties (Soft, Firm, Extra Firm, Lite Firm, and Lite Extra Firm) will remain unchanged. However, the company will introduce new package designs for these five Mori-Nu Silken Tofu SKU's later this spring, beginning in May 2003. The new package designs will feature fresh, updated color schemes, full-color recipe photos, new recipes, and directions to more recipes on the company's website at www.morinu.com.

"Health Food Chef to the Stars" Releases Deluxe Edition of Gourmet Cookbook, The Art of Tofu

Los Angeles, California (April 2001) – For nearly two decades, Akasha Richmond, "the Health Food Chef to the Stars," has been creating her enlightened vegetarian cuisine for Hollywood celebrities. Now she announces the deluxe edition of her cookbook, The Art of Tofu, complete with color photos and published by Morinaga Publications and Cross Media Ltd. Filled with the trade secrets of one of Hollywood's best loved chefs, The Art of Tofu includes many of the colorful, eclectic recipes (like Spicy Vietnamese Green Papaya Salad, Bisque of Fresh Asparagus, and Spicy Pumpkin Cheesecake) that Akasha has prepared as a personal chef or private caterer to the stars. Within the cookbook, Akasha reveals how to use her secret ingredient, Mori-Nu Tofu, in soups, low fat salad dressings, meatless burgers, casseroles, cakes, and cookies.

Akasha Richmond got her start in 1982 at the Golden Temple, Los Angeles' well-known vegetarian restaurant. Since then, she has served as personal chef to an impressive list of stars including Barbra Streisand and Carrie Fisher. She has catered events and parties for the likes of Al Pacino, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Richard Simmons, and MTV.

Until 1997, Akasha acted as Michael Jackson's personal chef. She currently works as a consultant to other personal chefs and also heads her own catering business, based in Los Angeles. But with her cookbook The Art of Tofu and now the deluxe edition, Akasha Richmond brings her luscious, low fat recipes to the mainstream and teaches America how to blend, whip, and mash tofu for delicious results.

The original The Art of Tofu is available at fine bookstores everywhere. To purchase either the original or new Deluxe Edition, visit Amazon.com, call toll free at 1-800-669-8638, or visit the Mori-Nu e-Shop at www.morinu.com.
