New Eye-Catching, Better Shelf Visible Package Design For Mori-Nu Tofu

Torrance, CA (August 4, 2014) – Morinaga Nutritional Foods today announced a new package design for the Mori-Nu Silken line of tofu products. The updated colorful designs replace the current designs and include five of Mori-Nu’s tofu varieties, effective immediately. The packaging is designed to enhance the visibility, value and brand awareness of Mori-Nu Silken Tofu. The new design has simplistic style and clear labeling that is appealing to consumers, while the tofu has the same great taste and texture consumers love. A QR Code on the top of the package sends users to Mori-Nu’s home page where they can purchase Mori-Nu’s products, find product information and search delicious recipes.

The new design incorporates several certification badges that contain important information for consumers. In 2013, Mori-Nu Tofu was verified by the Non-GMO Project—America’s most trusted independent verification program. Mori-Nu has always been made with non-GMO soy, and now the new packaging clearly states this with the on-pack Non-GMO Project seal/label. In addition, Mori-Nu is certified gluten-free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization, ensuring that an already naturally gluten-free food is produced in an environment that is rigorously monitored to prevent accidental contamination. The packaging also clearly states that Mori-Nu Silken Tofu is Kosher Certified. The Mori-Nu Silken Organic variety is certified USDA Organic, and is labeled as such on-pack.


No changes have been made to the consumable product or the manufacturing of the box, which is recyclable and BPA-free. This aseptic packaging ensures the 12-month shelf life—from date of manufacture—without the need for refrigeration until opened, and is always preservative free. In this technologically advanced packaging process, nutrition and flavor are locked in the day it is made. Mori-Nu prides itself on being a heart-healthy protein suitable for vegans and vegetarians and those who want to increase their intake of vegetable or cholesterol-free proteins.
